Solar4Schools focuses on rural and underfunded schools. Brighten Haiti also trains Haitian solar apprentices to install, maintain, and troubleshoot renewable-energy systems, building local skills alongside the infrastructure.
Flash Forward in Haiti
Flash Forward shipped 42 solar study lights to Haiti through its work with Brighten Haiti. Together, those lights add 252 learning hours each day.
Why the local partnership matters
A study light is intentionally simple. It charges during the day and gives a student a dependable source of light for reading, homework, or another task at night. Brighten Haiti brings local relationships and solar experience built through its work with schools and communities across Haiti.
That local foundation helps the lights reach students through an organization already working to expand reliable energy access.
What Flash Forward contributes
Flash Forward is a volunteer-run nonprofit that designs and builds rechargeable solar study lights. Young volunteers contribute through engineering, assembly, fundraising, media, and operations. The finished lights connect that hands-on work with students who need another option for learning after dark.
The 42-light Haiti allocation is part of a wider flashlight program that also includes 15 lights for India and 15 for the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
