Why reliable light matters after sunset

Scroll down

Our mission

Flash Forward designs, builds, and distributes solar-powered lights for students living without reliable electricity.

We are a volunteer-led, IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity.

Flash Forward began as a student project and grew into a nonprofit focused on helping students keep studying after dark. Our work is carried forward by volunteers, partners, and donors.

Brighter

futures

No student should have to lose study time when the sun goes down. Flash Forward works to expand access to solar-powered study lights, one light at a time.

Students without reliable electricity can have fewer dependable options for reading and studying after dark.

Flash Forward designs rechargeable solar-powered lights to charge during the day and provide light after sunset without a grid connection.

Our goal is to place practical light in students’ hands so they have another option for studying after dark.
